Meyer Vitabiotics conducted Go Folic event in Vadodara on 24th September, 2017. Around 150 doctors attended and agreed that Spina Bifida and Birth defects are the most prominent problems which are overlooked by us. Honorable Mayor of Vadodara “Bharat Dangar” attended the press conference where he highlighted the issue of Spina Bifida and Birth defects and he would give his support for this social cause.
CME at Shivamogga on 17th December 2016
A special scientific CME was organized for Doctors at Shivamogga on 17th December 2016. Dr. Vijay Mahantesh S. Samalad, Consultant Paediatric & Neonatal Surgeon, Navjappa Super Speciality Hospital, Shivamogga shared his insights on Neural Tube Defects. Dr. Muralidhar Rao, Consultant Gynecologist, Dr. Veeresh S.M., Consultant Pediatrician & Dr. Shreeshail, MD, DCH, Consultant Pediatrician & IAP Secretary from Shivamogga were the esteemed Chairpersons for the event. Over 50 Doctors from all over Shivamogga including Gynaecologists & Obstetricians as well as Paediatricians attended the event. Prevention, Treatment & Management of Birth Defects, with special emphasis on Neural tube defects, was discussed during the CME. Prevention of neural tube defects & some other birth defects through supplementation of Folic acid containing supplements was the highlight of the programme.
CME on ‘A Multidisciplinary Outlook on Prevention & Management of Birth Defects’ at Imphal – 3rd September 2016
A special scientific CME was organized for Doctors at Imphal on 3rd September 2016. Dr. Santosh Karmarkar, Leading Paediatric Surgeon, Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai & Founder of Spina Bifida Foundation was the Keynote Speaker for the same. Prof. Kh. Tomba Singh – Senior Consultant, Maipakpi Maternity & Child Hospital; Prof. Th. Bidhumukhi Devi – Dept. of OBGY, JNIMS, Imphal; Dr. Kh. RatanKumar – Senior Consultant, Mothers’ Care Children Hospital were the esteemed chairpersons for the event. Among the panelists were Prof. L. Ranjit Singh – HOD, Dept of OBGY, RIMS, Imphal; Prof. Ng. IndraKumar Singh – HOD, Dept. of OBGY, JNIMS, Imphal; Prof. W. Jatishor – Dept. of Radio Diagnosis, RIMS; Dr. I. Keshorjit – Asst. Prof., Pediatric Surgeon, RIMS; Dr. T. Yaikhomba – Consultant Pediatrician, SHRI, Imphal. Over 100 Doctors attended & participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. In addition a press conference was also conducted highlighting the embarking of the ‘Go Folic’ campaign in Imphal.

CME on Management & Prevention of Birth Defects at Bangalore – 23rd July 2016
A special scientific symposium on ‘Prevention & Management of Birth defects’ was organized for Doctors at Bangalore. Dr. Santosh Karmarkar, Leading Paediatric Surgeon, Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai & Founder of Spina Bifida Foundation was the Keynote Speaker for the same. Dr. Jaya Narendra, leading Gynaecologist & Obstetrician at Bangalore was the Chief Guest. More than 70 Doctors from all over Bangalore including Gynaecologists & Obstetricians, Paediatricians & Sonologists attended the event. Dr. Uma Prakash, Dr. Sita Bhateja, Dr. Parvathi Javali, Dr. B.P. Karunakar were among the attendees.

CME for Doctors on Birth Defects Prevention – 17th of April 2016
On 16th & 17th of April 2016 a press conference & CME for Doctors on Birth Defects Prevention was organized at Kankavali, Sindhudurg respectively under the Go Folic campaign.
Mrs. Uma Kalekar, Director, Meyer Vitabiotics, Dr. Santosh Karmarkar, Leading Pediatric Surgeon at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai & Founder of Spina Bifida Foundation, Dr. Hema Purandare, Geneticist from Mumbai & Dr. Shamita Birmole, Gynecologist & Obstetrician from Kankavali were among the speakers who addressed the Press.
The objective of the same was to initiate an awareness drive on Birth Defects for Doctors in interiors & rural areas to announce the activities planned under the Go Folic campaign. These include free patient check-up camps, seminars for paramedical staff in such districts & display of Posters for awareness on birth defects prevention across the country.
We received a tremendous response for the CME & more than 100 Doctors from across Sindhudurg District attended the programme. Local Medical Associations such as Indian Medical Association, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India & Doctors Fraternity Club of Sindhudurg district also helped us in conducting the event.

A Special Scientific CME was organized in Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre,Bandra, Mumbai on 27th June 2015 sponsered by Meyer Organics. The topic for the CME was Prevention and Management of Birth defects.
